Trev is the about only general forumite (forumian?) that I have ever seen playing blitz.

Q: Why is it that general forum posters don't seem to play much blitz?

i don't know, i've seen one or two people in the blitz room who have posted in general but not many. a lot of the general people don't play a lot of cc chess (myself included) so maybe they're not really here for the chess but more for the forum?

if i'm bored or have an idea for an opening i'll hit the blitz room to try it out.

i play blitz there sometimes, usually 5' + 5" - it's not rated, tho.

Strangely enough, I don't want chess software like Fritz running on my PC as I don't want my PC to be a better chessplayer than I am.

Does this mean I am thinking of my PC as a fellow lifeform? Am I losing it?

I've hit 1700 a few times but I'm much more at ease playing when my rating is 1400.

because it's unrated.
