Mine, here, yesterday.
2008: Time passes strangely and with much mistiness.
I believe the internet access I was using was AOL CD-ROM loaded ADSL dial-up, although that may have been earlier.
I remember how I found my way here; making a post on Facebook asking for places to play chess online and RHP was suggested.
Facebook was 4 years old and I’d had a profile there for 1 year. I think I was still using Friends Reunited also. I also had a MySpace page full of fascinating stuff none of which I can remember.
Nintendo Wii Sports was rocking the gaming and the wife and I played the bowling a lot. I got beaten a lot. At the game.
Never Mind the Buzzcocks was still on TV in the UK
Anecdote: a few months later in 2008 I posted a link to a slightly spicy GIF in the General Forum, panicked when I realised it was probably in breach of the forum guidelines, couldn’t figure out how to delete it so reported myself to the forum mod and got a week forum ban. Those were tough days back then in the forums and it was kicking off every day for one reason or another.
@Torunn saidA good memeroy is also a problematic thing, while being able to forget is a blessing. ( as my wife says)
I have no recollection of any birthday before my 40th.
@diver saidI remember a few birthdays, but only what happened and who was there, not what number it was.
