Whew. I was wondering when you were going to defend yourself against these chauvanists.

Perhaps it was the 8 minutes of shifted colors of the Grand Canyon on his way to 'infinity'?

I know sci-fi, this was sci-fail.

Will you next tell me Blade Runner is not a 'true sci-fi' movie but rather a 'space wes ...[text shortened]... Give me a list of movies that fit the criteria of sci-fi by your definition, please.

Serenity, the offshoot of Firefly, for one.

saying someone is intelligent or unintelligent for liking/not liking a certain movie/tv genre is ridiculous.

Oh, contraire, mon frere.

I said "unintelligent women do not get sci-fi", not "if a woman does not get sci-fi, then she is unintelligent". I'm sure you can see the difference.

And I also said nothing about preference. I was talking about understanding. I'm sure you can see that difference too.

Serenity was awesome.

So was Firefly. Too bad it was only on for one short season.

I have the Firefly: The Complete Series on DVD, and pull one out once in a while. It was a great series. They are replaying them now on the SyFy channel.

It's up there at the top. If you twist my arm a lot, I'd have to pick Blade Runner, though.

Do you need to see Firefly to enjoy Serenity?

Nobody who says this can be a lover of cinema. Sorry, your reviewer sucks.

Perhaps the guy who wrote that review wasn't a fan of 13 minute walks to a spaceship or 8 minutes of pictures of the grand canyon with the colors adjusted.

Ohhh, sure... lots of people 'like' cinema... but no one appreciates it as much as YOU DO!~ So cool.

I didn't say that. Did I chide you for not liking 2001? No. I love it, but I understand is not everyone's cup of tea.

You don't think that the phrase I quoted is pretty ridiculous? How can you like cinema when you dismiss its images?

no, it's sort of like a pilot for the series, so they tell you everything you need to know. serenity's your basic well done entertaining space action movie.

edit: damit!
