it's not about respect, it's just a way for GB to suck up to people he wants onside. he just likes to set up threads in which he can pass judgement on people. too bad he himself is lacking in any qualities which a discerning person can respect.

it's a case of turning lemons into lemonade, Rusty. GB relentlessly inflicts his self-serving, pseudo-intellectual narcissistic drivel on the forum. the best response is to turn that into a positive by pointing out the various communicative techniques in play. such discussions make it that much harder to sell snake oil. incidentally, by 'technique', i don't want to imply that Grampy has any conscious awareness of such - rather, his "intellectual dishonesty driven by unbridled self serving emotional lust for approval", as he himself puts it, drives his post content from a subconscious level.

as i say, it's community service.
