Not sure how useful the first question is. The thing I was thinking of was an animal, and after about 15 guesses, it guessed, "Is it a rubber ball?"

It's guesses are based on previous answers I think so that's why some of the messed up information. I think people like to answer falsely so as to win. But if you answer the questions correctly it adds to it's data base.

*Chess=breast milk????*
Now I know this comp is spying on me!

its best against me was "oscilloscope" 20.
I won on 'transistor', 'universe', chopsticks, 'space shuttle'
seahorse, asteroid, billiard ball, microscope.
it won on razor blade, 17, paper 20.
Human 8, comp 3.

It failed 'remote control' and afterwards gave me these errors:

- I said is it black? you said no - I say yes (my remote is grey)
- I said can it be used in a classroom? you said no - I say yes (well, I've never seen a TV remote used in a classroom around here but I suppose the computer was right).
- I said is is straight? you said no - I say yes (my remote is curved to look fancy and not straight).

- I said does it have multiple colors? you said no - I say yes (if you call grey with white letters multiple colors than I guess the database was correct).

I think I see a serious problem developing with the information sent into the database. People have a different opinion regarding the questions. I surely wouldn't say that my TV remote is multiple colors, but some people would.

In those cases I just put 'sometimes' but it says a lot of things
that are wrong in its critique. Like colors, material, etc.

Took it 30 questions to get "granite". Got "wolf" in 20Q. I thought of "painting" and it got "oil painting" in 20Q. Got "particle accelerator" in 17 for me too, and I know nothing about them.

It didn't get Napoleon's hat. Stupid bloody program.

Edit: or unctuousness. It guessed chromosome both times.

Edit2: didn't get glockenspiel either. That's 3 out of 3!

Edit3: Hooray, it got capybara in 26

The programmers say it will change it's opinions to reflect common knowledge. That could be its biggest failing 😕

You answered in such a way as to try to make it get the answer wrong. Yes, your remote is gray, but many are black, and gray is very similar. Your answers were WAY too picky, and based solely on your own experience instead of general experience. Most classrooms have TV's, and therefore remotes could be used. The question about it being straight is a very difficult one to answer. But if you're not sure, you probably should just give one of the intermediate answers, or say it's irrelevant.

I'm just saying that you have no right to complain about it when you give it answers like that. There is a problem with taking information from all kinds of people, but it's the best they could do. Having the programmers do it themselves is impractical, and will probably be worse information in the long run because it's only based on the opinions of a few people. I'm guessing that there's a system in place to prevent people from messing with it. If there are too many contradictions, it'll disregard that info.
