theres a famous glasgow football team
they dont play in blue
and they dont play in green
red and yellow are the colours we love
the colours of partick thistle football club

(chorus)
BY THE WAY
we dont fear anyone ,
anytime, anywhere

SO
fly the flag for the firhill jags
we'll follow you everywhere!

altogether now next verse

follow thistle
follow partick thistle
we're going for the cup, we're going for the flag
follow thistle
follow partick thistle
theres not a team like the firhill jags
(chorus)

nice song.

however not as good as the following arbroath song.

arbroath <clap clap clap>
arbroath <clap clap clap>
arbroath <clap clap clap>

and yes that IS meant to be an L not an R

although i was singing anothe one on friday night. we were at some dodgy pub with old music. not good old music either. it was all the *csohuigth* of the day. came to a head when that tune

"Cheer up...alex mcleish
oh what can it mean
to a
sad orange.. person
and a not very good football teeeeeam"

it came on. we sang along.
what else were we meant to do?

actually it was thistle fans who gave the song to football! it all started at our play-off game against dundee united with the appropriately named cheer up jim mclean!

the jags fans then gave it to the tartan army for euro 96 two weeks later with cheer up terry v!

its had thousands of versions since.

rae, lawrie, mcquade, bone...what a sensation!
