* If the Army rank of Major is above that of Lieutenant, then why does a Major General have 2 stars, and a Lieutenant General have 3 stars?

Good questions. Here’s mine: why is it considered a good thing not to care what other people think? This is called independence of mind. But it is considered a bad thing not to care what other people feel. This is called callousness. why the difference?
