Dave, in a post a week or so ago you mentioned that a book
everyone should own, among others, is:-

500 Master Games of Chess by Tarkatower

It looks like a good book, split up into three sections: closed games,
open games and semi-open games (which for someone who struggles
sometimes with what is the difference between these three it might be
useful!).

Having a quick shifty at Amazon reveals that they have this book for a
nice cheap price....but I can only find it in oldie stylee descriptive
notation. Is it possible to get it in modern algebraic notation?

Mark I wish someone would reprint it in the exact same style in
algebraic...but alas no one has taken up that task...maybe I should
do it!! LOL!!

But once you get the hand of descriptive it is not all that bad...well yes
it is but what are ya gonna do???

I swear if you buy it and really take the time to sit down with it and it
doesn't become your favorite book I'll buy it off of you...I have worn
out three copies!!

I'm probably the only one who misses the old descriptive notation. I
thought it had character. The algebraic notation seems cold and sterile
to me.
