true. but here in the southern finland there hasn't been snow like this (and last winter) in a couple of decades. since the 80's we've been lucky to get any snow for christmas.

Are you talking about the arctic circle? Wormwood isn't north of that. They tend to get a lot more snow in Southern Finland than we tend to get up here though.

yep. about 2/3 of finland is south from the arctic circle, and I'm in the southernmost tip of it by the sea.

funny thing about airports. -while many other european airports are canceling flights by the hundreds because of just a fraction of the snow we're getting, it turns out helsinki-vantaa was closed for only about 30 minutes. and that half an hour happened 7 years ago. apparently even if the city is in full blown chaos, the airport people can handle the snow without breaking a sweat. 🙂
