figures were reset at around 10.30. it is now 24.30. it makes 46 moves per hour. a move every 1 minute 20 seconds. keeping on like that for 14 hours. no food? no toilet? hum?

Now,I don't want to offend all the 1100 and under here, but moving against them doesn't need to take much time on thinking about the next move, hence the quick moves.
Hence the rating of the guy doesn't reflect his skills,as he almost never played 1200s and above, and the very few times he did it he lost.
The real challenge is to move fast as Dustnrogers or Cheshire the Cat and mantain n very good standard of game like they do.

i got your point. i understand and agree. but still, is a hell of a physical effort. i wouldn't be able to do it.
what do you get from playing chess like this? for sure you don't learn. you canot even remember a single game, nor a combination, nor a nice move. whats the point.

I played in a 5 minute blitz marathon at ICC one year. It was for 24 hours and I had a support team to bring me food and water. After 23 hours I was in top position but a guy named GotMilk was right on my tail... The thing about this tournament was that anybody could join in any time, and so in the last hour I was facing players who were fresh.
I couldn't hold them off and Gotmilk passed me, but I did take 2nd place. Probably still on record over there.
