17,90 for a second class (thats good enough) ticket indeed. You could do it for 10,70 but then you would have to find yourself a student with an OV (freely translated: Public Transport card), that is traveling the same trip and is willing to let you travel with him/her. If you buy a cheaper ticket and cant back it up with an OV or discountcard you might have to pay a fine of 35 euro (i think) ánd the ticket:p

NS is pretty decent, you can be happy you dont have to travel with Veolia...
