ok

i'm having some problems with my work computer, basically when i open my documents it freezes, also lots of programs just seem to want to freeze up. i've tried a few things, registry diagnostics, adware scanners and antivirus stuff, basically i still have this problem

i've been browsing the web to see what i could find but there are all these forums and not much in the way of help, also what is a HJT log and how do i access mine so i can post it on one of these 'said' forums so they can help diagnose my problem.

so i thought i would post it here for the good people at RHP any help would be great

best regards
mike s

HJT is short for HijackThis; download it from,

http://merijn.org/downloads.html

let it scan your computer and copy/paste the log it creates into one of the many forums around that deal with them.

If you have any trouble, you could follow the tutorial here.

Just be careful, you have to know what you are doing with Hijack this because you can kill something vital and end up having to reformat your HD and reloading your OS. If you find stuff on the list that is obviously bad, like BHO's that you don't recognise, you can safely delete them but just read the list VERY carefully.
I khow from experience some of the things listed there have rebuild kits hiding out elsewhere and if you kill it with HJT it just comes back but its good for getting rid of most BHO (Browser Helper Object) which are usually up to no good.

You should get a tech support job if you can diagnose the problem just like that. 🙄

I find getting a new computer solves most computer problems 😉
