Recently the forums have gotten worse. And instead of trying to fix them, we encourge this behavior by giving recs. We had the shrinkage tread that earned a number of recs. A more recent one was "you're such a ass, (name)" which earned at least five. We have people using Our Lord's name in vain. We had the nose picking tread which wasn't bad; infact that was the best laugh I've had in a long time. The only reason that didn't get my rec was because of the unnecessary" don't pick your nose during sex". Instead I alerted it.
I give recs because I agree with what the poster says or I think it's funny, (as long as it's clean), not because they ask for a rec or make some sex joke. I encourage all of you to refrain from makeing these posts and alert others accordingly to make these forums a better place. This also goes for our avatars. They are getting pretty bad too.
I hope it didn't sound like I was an alert freak and I sit around all day waiting for posts to alert. I really hate to do it. I'm not trying to be a mod, but we all need to help out and get the x number of alerts, otherwise they might not be removed/hidden at all.

This is a public forum and it should be encouraged that people should be themselves and not conform to what a small minority of people think is "proper".
A forum that is totally void of discussions of sex, jokes (lewd or clean), heated debates and impeccable bad taste is not a "better place" at all.

Next thing you know, what are we talking about? What is being said? Who knows, but it all starts as one thing said that escalates as each poster sees what they can get away with.

People being "themselves" is that what we want? Do we want this site to be like this world that we live in today?
BTW, I said nothing about heated debates. Sometimes those are good to have.

Maybe there should be some kind of control - I've just started a game with someone who is ten years old. Some of the jokes (including one's I've come out with) are pretty unsuitable. Maybe Russ needs to place some kind of warning on the Forums List page.
