Cigarettes are $3.58 a pack (generic)- pot is still 35 an 8th and Sunburnt, you must have visited Pgh back in the 50s. It is one of the cleanest cities in the US. All our industry went to Europ and Asia.

I must say that I did not experience the effects of any pollution whatsoever while I was there - likely because I am from a city twice its size. But the city itself, besides the downtown core, was mostly woods, hills and rivers. Quite nice actually.
World Cleanest Cities - Pittsburgh is #10

Absolutely. Worst fans in sports.

Originally posted by darvlayI don't know, I just don't see it. Listen, I live in New Hampshire. No matter where I go, I'm amazed to fly back home over my beautiful home and marvel at the green, the mountains, the water, the granite. My bf is from a Pittsburgh suburb. He came here and commented on the lack of litter in our state, the wide open spaces between homes, etc. He goes nuts with traffic and stoplights all over the place. When I go there I cannot understand why they need so many roadside signs. Excessive cautions like, "beware of agressive drivers." And every 1000 feet! It clutters the scenery. The transportation administration there needs a complete overhaul or perhaps better public transportation!

He lives in a suburb, pretty normal. To me, though, it's just not a pretty place. It's true that the city itself is attractive and well-maintained in areas. The suburbs are nothing special. I have to admit I was surprised Pgh was in the top 25 of cleanest cities. When I moved to NH, I could then see that Massachusetts was a suffocating and messy place to live. I became a country bumpkin, so I am extremely biased now in terms of quality of life. I go back there now and I turn into some crazy person yelling at other drivers because it's impossible to use cruise control or directionals in that place. Everybody drives like it's bumper cars - it's nuts. And people are extremely rude.
Do I need glasses? Oh, wait, I have glasses. Nevermind.
