Casino Rama in Orillia, about an hour North of Toronto is supposed to be pretty nice.

There's a casino in Montreal too but I forget the name of it.

Here's a useful link:

If you can, I recommend donating your money to a charity casino...for the kids!

That's the one I had actually taken a look at online. It seems to be the biggest one in the area. Looks nice, with a lot of table games. I believe the drinking and gambling age is 19 in Canada (Please correct me if I'm wrong). However, I have heard that in some areas it's as low as 16 to buy alcohol?? Is this true??

In Ontario, it is 19.

In Quebec, it is 18.

In Ontario, the legal gambling/drinking age is 19. In Quebec, you can pretty much get away with anything at any time, except speaking English (Montreal being the exception, and a beautiful oasis of Quebec anglophone happiness). But I think the legal drinking age is supposed to be 18 there.

I hate Casino Rama (Orillia). It's about 2 hours north of Toronto, and is filled with drunken reservers, old ladies and the bitter stench of defeat. Casino Niagara is much nicer, but I don't think it's on your route. There's also the Great Blue Heron Casino, about 1.5 hours north of the 401 near Bowmanville, there's the Thousand Islands Charity Casino (never been), there's a bunch in Hull, PQ as I understand it (again, never been), and there's a really nice one in Montreal on a man-made island. It looks a little like the World Series Trophy from the highway.

If you can, I suggest playing in Montreal. It's quite a snappy setup, and the nightlife is great if you have some winnings to blow. Good hunting!

Personally, I prefer Casino Rama over Niagara.. I found Niagara had more arrogant people, and was much more crowded.. Rama has more room to move around too..

Careful! On the east side, they're pretty nasty to the Anglos.
