Ok. So I have bought a house. My first house at that. One really big deal to begin with for me. and I had taken a week off to get moved and settled in, and that is where the fun started.

First off, the closing on the house almost didn't happen. The lending institution decided 2 days prior to closing that our credit to debt ratio wasn't large enough and that we needed to pay off our car to make it big enough,(what paying off a car has to do with a house is really beyond me, but there you have it). so we scramble to come up with $1900.00 to pay off the car, (Family w/ money, it helps). When we get the money, we call the Chase Auto Finance (has the car loan) to try and make an electronic transfer to pay the car off, only to have them tell us that the a payment that large can't be made over the phone. It must be mailed in to their processing center. So we overnight a check to them (Of course this was a Friday and no banking will happen over the weekend with them), and we wait. Monday comes. Closing was suppose to be Friday. We call Chase back, They haven't processed the check but will have it one by the end of the day. So we wait.
Tuesday comes. We call Chase again, the check has been processed and their thanks, but when we asked them to send a fax over to our Mortgage company right away, the idiot said it would take 3 to 4 days. Now I ask you, how hard is it to print a couple pieces of paper and send it out over a fax? I do it everyday, several times a day, and she is trying to tell us 3 to 4 days. To make matters worse. when we tried to explain why we needed it right away, she kept interupting us over and over. Finally we asked to stop her rudeness and let us talk, and she hung up on us. This was becoming infuriating. When the call back came, We got a different person who gladly had the fax sent right away.
Now lets just go ahead and make matters wors here. Saturday I had a tooth shatter. become infected and absessed. Monday I went to the dentist and numbed me up and gave me some pills, and ent me home, Tuesday I am back in the Emergency room with a face so swollen with infection that it actually splits my upper lips, also had fevers running as high as 104.5F. and pain. Yes lots and lots of pain.
Wednseday back to the dentist for wha is just the start of a root canal. and Friday what is part 2 of the same root canal. Next Thursday more of the root canal to come.

Ok back to getting the closing done. We get a call on Wednesday saying that we will close on Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm. so we start making our plans again to move the weekend, busted tooth and all.
Thursday afternoon, we get a call at 2:30pm that the closing has been delayed again. This time over some snafu that has happened over sending the money from the lenders to the closers. so now it is going to happen on Friday 1 week later. We are promised in the morning.

Friday Morning, go to the dentist to have work done on my tooth. then we wait. and wait. and wait some more. we start calling people. no good news to report from them. so we wait and worry. I go get my kids and on the way back, 4:45pm, I finally get the call the we are closing at 5:30pm. So we finally close 6:30pm on Friday 7/21/2006 in our very first home.

It wasn't the way we planned to have it done. but it is done.

At least through all that you finally accomplished what you set out to do. Shame about the tooth though you could of definately done without it. But like you i dont see the point of people being rude when asked to do something, at the end of the day your a customer, i know if i ever spoke to one of my customers like that or not let them say what they need, i would loose my job in a second - how long does it take to send a fax, where has all the goodwill gone in the world, dont customer call centres etc like helping out people now . didnt she realise by the time she finished the call she could of sent it !!

Good luck in your new home - hope your family is very happy there.

We all have bad weeks. Just this week the cat puked on our white carpet and it left a big stain. So, you see, things could be worse.
