Originally posted by MartinSYou might be a victim of the same prob. as Luck was.If you share a comp.and don't log out.
Someone from RHP has accessed my account and enrolled my in one or more of the Tournaments.
My PC is at home and only I use use.
I would be interested as to how the hell this happened and would appreciate an explanation from RHP.
I am not impressed - is is grossly improper.

As I only play on my home PC and RHP is the ONLY site that I use that is non-secure. Draw your own conclusion.

It would have had to be someone who knew your email address. They would have had to try many passwords to get into your account. This will be a starting point to find out who it is. Email Russ and Chris and see if they can find out the IP address used to access your account.
Sorry that this happened. Russ or Chris could probably help you change your settings so that you can put a new password in.
Maybe there could be a feature that when you put the wrong password in more than three times, it would lock up your account and only Russ and Chris could unlock it after you were contacted.
Hope this helps.

Hi Doug,
Your suggestion about only three password attempts is a very good idea.
In my case, I do not believe anyone would possibly be able to work out my p.word.

it is possible to access someones account if you know their e-mail address - you just type in their e-mail address then the wrong password and click on the button to send the e-mail address. if you know their e-mail password you can get it that way, but you can also download programs that can read e-mails sent to someones elses address, and if their on hotmail you can do a search for "how to hack hotmail" or summant and find out how to access their account that way. but why someone would go to that bother just to sign you up for a tournament i don't know...😛

Even if you think your password is save. I have seen before that someone cracked a password when there was no lock after a certain number of failed logon attempts. Having the proper software a hacker could send your email together with a million different passwords within an hour to the RHP web server until the software gets it right.
Logon attempts should be logged somewhere either at the database or the Webserver. If Chris or Russ can find numerous failed logon attemps within a short period of time then implementing password locking after three failed logon attempts makes sense.
