If you do a complete destruction of all data you of course erase all data. BUt since Itune-files can't be infected by viruses (as far as I know), I suggest you take a system (like Knoppix) that is not afflictable by your virus and save all data from the disk to another one (ONLY DATA, NO PROGRAMS) and then erase your harddrive.

Why not remove the virus if it is a virus?
What is the name of it?
What scans have you used, if any?
Try an on-line scan: http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/housecall
If you don't have an AV program installed already, you can get AVG or Avira - both free.

I would also suggest you get the free version of MalwareBytes AntiMalware.
