A non moderated forum where anything goes could essentially be breaking UK law.
As a guideline, imagine you're in a group of people having a normal debate/conversation. If you can get away with saying something without someone trying to pummel you, then you should be ok in the normal debating forum, otherwise you really shoudln't be using the anonymity of the internet as an excuse for behaving like a jerk.

We originally had an unmoderated forum here. We also had a live chat room that was set up for RHP members only.
The chat room was shut down after just a few weeks because the RHP members who went there could not behave themselves.
Next, our forum was shut down, for the same reason.
When the forum was brought back, it included moderators.
I just don't see us going back to what we once had. 😕

we've had a lot of discussion on this.
we don't need to want so-called democracy and freedom, if we can post with courtesy and consideration.
we don't need to want so-called fair moderation, if we can become fair posters.
our mods are great - their selfless dedication makes these forums great.
we should be showing them appreciation - not criticising them.
russ is great - in fact, we owe our RHP lives to him!
we should be grateful - and not make this a nightmare for him.
i really think it is time we stopped asking and started giving.
