am i hallucinating? am i going insane?

i've been working pretty hard lately, well into the early hours on several consecutive nights, trying to finish my philosophy phd proposal and a substantial philosophy essay, and i think it is beginning to affect my mind.

at this moment i have 8 games waiting, according to the bit in the top right corner that tells you that. this is correct according to my games list. just now, i entered one of those games, and the bit in the top corner said i had 2 games waiting, not 8. surprised, i went back to the game list: 8 games waiting. back into the same game as before: 8 games waiting. did i see it or not (the '2'😉? it definitely said 2 - i'm sure of it...
late last night, something similar happened. my rating at the time was 1248. i entered a game and was surprised to note the rating next to my handle was 1233. uh oh, surprise checkmate, i thought as i exited to the game list to see who had done this to me. no-one had, and my rating said 1248. back into the game. rating 1248.

please tell me i'm not the only one this is happening to. i think i need a rest (in a padded cell, perhaps)...

yeah thanks. it just happened again, and i can tell i haven't had the time to even get within inhaling distance of alcohol or any other mind-altering substance in - well, it must be days now.

this time, i went to the game list page. once again 2 games to play. when i came to the forum page, it was back to 7 as it should be. this happened just two minutes ago. so there are only two choices i think:
1. something's wrong with the RHP software.
2. i've gone nuts.
if this has happened to anyone else, it would indicate option 1.
otherwise option 2 seems good. if this is a hallucination, it's pretty damned realistic.

EDIT: BTW, i just reached 25000 moves...

EDIT: later - i was thinking as i typed in the above that i should add option 3 - something's wrong with my computer. but then i thought 'sod it, that's not sexy enough'. but of course, option 3 turned out to be reality...

i like the illuminati and paranoia suggestions, i really do, but i think Katty's nailed it. i had just come to the same conclusion - that something's wrong with the cacheing on my laptop, based on something that just happened - i realised that the false games list i was seeing was actually a past version.

but maybe it's the Illuminati or the people out to get me who are messing with my cache. aha!. well it's not gonna work. i'm headed for my underground bunker now, which has internet and 50 years' supply of canned food.
note to self: remember to bring can-opener.
