http://twentytwowords.com/2013/11/27/americans-try-label-european-countries-map-12-pictures/ Most Americans probably couldn't find the US on a world map.

It's probably not true but very funny.
Joined 24 Apr '10 Moves 15242 To be honest, that's not half bad. I wouldn't be able to do the map of the US nearly as well as most of these people did Europe. And I'd also suck at filling in eastern Europe.
Too bad though that most people can't find The Netherlands apparently.
"The Netherlands? Ain't that the capital of Amsterdam?"

http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/europe_map.htm It's confusing how they lumped Scotland, England and Wales together under "United Kingdom". Most Americans at least made an effort to separate those.

I wonder if the "good gymnasts" was meant to be Romania, which is farther south.

When I was in grade school I would have got 100% easily. But, as with much knowledge that is never used, it fades with time.

I was surprised I didn't do better 😞

George Carlin — 'Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.' I think you mean median, not average. You and George are in the bottom half.

Nah, just doesn't quite work as well as the original. I guess this is why you never wrote for any comics. 😕

I wonder if the "good gymnasts" was meant to be Romania, which is farther south. It may not matter much, but on this map you will see a small indication for Liechtenstein, between Switzerland and Austria:
