An Observer of Events and Tymes

An Observer of Events and Tymes

General

I have always tried to be an observer of events. Be it local events, or web occurrences. I often speculate in my mind what the outcome might be. The immediate results, and the eventual culmination of the initial occurrence.

Often from my viewpoint, I see the beginning and the end, so I must fill in the blanks, often using simple deduction. If for example 2+x=4, then x must be 2.

I often wonder if the world runs, in such a cut and dry, math like existance. If QxP, then QxQ, RxQ works in chess, but in reality, in this macrocosm, are there inbetween moves I am missing?

Perhaps this is why I'm no good at chess. It never occurred to me that RxQ was a logical follow-on from QxQ ...

The unexpected zwischenzug is as much a b**** in life as it is in chess.

For every move, there is a logical counterpart. There must be a next move or game over. For every capture there must be a recaprture or the outcome may be a material deficit.

At times a recapture is forgotten. This is usually fatal to the player. Sometimes a recapture is postponed or forfeited for an inbetween move. That my dear lady is the curve ball.

But life is not a zero-sum game like Chess, where one side wins and another loses. Reality is infinitely more complicated than a game and so a losing or winning situation you perceive in your life may not actually be so since you are not omniscient. Let's say you insult your girlfriend and she leaves you forever. You may feel like you lost but what if your soulmate shows up the next day? In that case the previous girlfriend helped you to "win" when you thought you had lost. This would be SxH (soulmate captures your heart).

There is however a similar serendipity factor in chess. The natural progression of moves leads to a culmination or climax, where an innocuous move made 20 moves ago, looks like it was all part of a plan. When in fact it was accomplished by pure dumb luck.
