It is just a ploy by Bord Fáilte to promote skiing.

What happened to global warming??

Scotland has suffered some of the coldest winter months in almost 100 years.

Combining the temperatures of January and December shows it was the coldest since 1914 - the year data started being logged.

Elsewhere, it was the coldest December and January in Northern Ireland since 1962/63 and the coldest in England and Wales since 1981/82.

That's the fresh melt water coming off the glaciers in Greenland interfering with the Gulf Stream.

Dude, this is a strange and unusually cold winter. In my town (located by the sea) it snowed first time in the last 50 years. 30 cm of it. In a turistic city full of beaches and stuff. I mean, WTF. And when it's not snowing, it's just terribly cold.
