Any chance you could ask him about Grandparent/Grandchild legal status out there?

You're fried, except the first line consanguineal is unexistant or uncapable of due care on the kid, i.e. dead parents, minor brothers/sisters, or any of them uncapable of dully taking care of the child.

as long as I remember, but better confirm with a real family lawyer

That`s what i figured.

Bit of a situation. My Nephew`s (dead) kid`s mother is a real bitch (lazy, spends all her welfare and his pention on herself and not the kid etc). My sis get to see the kid now and then, but is in turmoil because of this woman. Sis is afraid that if she goes and turns her in, she wont be able to see said kid anymore.

wouldn't it have to be worse than that to get parental rights revoked?

you really, really must demonstrate that she is uncapable of parenting, securing the minimum mental, emotional and material needs of the child.

hard one, yet it can be done. Just bear in mind that a mother has always the advantage, unless she is a danger... beyond reasonable doubt.

Yeah, that`s the trouble. If it backfires my sis most likely will never get to see the kid again. Tough situation to be in.

Guy goes to a lawyers office in California, and sees a sign on the lawyer's desk: "2 questions for $45".

So he says to the lawyer, "$45? That's a bit expensive, isn't it?"

Lawyer says "Yup. Gotta make a living. Now, you wanna ask 2 more for another $45?"
