Also, until you`re very confident with the camera. Don`t bother with zooming all over the place for a while, just keep to a fixed focus. Practice editing on the pc/mac too. Don`t forget, the sound is made up from multiple tracks, so aviod trying to get it all at once.

I was wondering if anyone else in the RHP community creates movies (professionally, or fan movies)? I just want to know, because I am hoping to be a director whenI grow up, and if anyone can offer tips to a young guys hoping for hints, well, tell me!
Thanks
Andrew.

i have a friend that's heavilly into directing-he went to a film studies evening class, and this year he's off to study media studies at glasgow uni. he's already written a script and is hopefully gonna film it over the summer...something about a car mechanic killing someone, then discovering that he's been seen, so he tries to kill that person...or something...😕
also-become, like, a coffee boy or soomething for -i dunno- some local TV channel in your area...i mean-that's what the head of the BBC started as! 😉
Andrew - Good luck and follow your dream!
There are many books that can help you with starting out, not to mention specialized schools if you'd rather not go to University to study.
Your best bet might be just saving up and getting yourself a DV camera. You can get a low end Sony camcorder (D8) for under 400 dollars (US) on sale. That will get you started and then you can play with editing software, etc.
There are also lots of fun formats to play around with - pixelvision for instance, if you can get your hands on a PXL2000. ( see this site for cool Pixel stuff - http://elvis.rowan.edu/~cassidy/pixel/ )
Also, it might help if you watch some independent films and the like. Go for it!
