I tend to agree with all of that. my mac drone friends fiercely disagree though. πŸ™‚

It's actually cooler now to slam Apple and Apple consumers then it is to buy in to them.

Stop being such a bandwagon jumper.

Most accurate review I've seen so far. Rec'd!

While I do think this form factor is a natural evolution of the netbook, the whole thing screams "1.0" to me. I already have a 4gb iPhone 2G sitting in a drawer at home, so I think I'll sit this round out. See you same time next year in the iPad 2.0 thread.

OH NOES you guys!
A successful company just released a 'stylish' product with many pros and cons and will make money! Nobody will buy this for the 'right' reasons!
OH NOES!

I bought a 2nd gen iPod nano and there was a firmware bug that didn't allow creation of custom playlists if there were 1000 or more songs on the device. I proved this to the fools at the Apple store "genius" bar, and they still wouldn't give me a straight refund [insisted on a $25 restocking fee]. There responses ranged from flat-out denial ["I talked to super-genius lady in the back and she says there's no glitch"] to blaming it on me - said it was probably pirated music messing up their glorious product.

A few months later, they quietly released a firmware upgrade that fixed the problem. No communication that it was fixed - you just have to look out for it.

Since then, I haven't bought another thing from Apple.

If you must buy an Apple product, it's best to stay away from the Apple store. Go to somewhere like Best Buy where they just take stuff back without undue hassle.

I've been slamming people who do things because they think it's cool ever since I got on this site...I can't help it if people have finally caught up to me.

Hell, if there IS a bandwagon, I'm the one that drove it into town. Not my problem people have hopped on.
