It seems wrong that a newly born baby giraffe should have to fall from that height.

I just took a look at how these amazing creatures deliver.

Well, newborn they may be, but they start out six feet tall.

I'm sure they have handlers to help her out.

But it could also happen before they can get in there to help.

Maybe hitting the ground gives them the same impetus to start breathing like a doctor's slap on the butt. 🙂

In the wild in Africa they need to be almost running when they are born. Hyena,
and jackal often stalk the giraffe cows when they get the smell of this, then the baby must be running to stay alive.
It's in their nature.
