You, me and Bowmann need to start a Phillip Larkin Clan please.
Make them join The Enemy and start a Larkin thread there.

Good idea - then you can post all the poetry privately.
And pat yourselves on the back for posting poetry that you all know about.

My favorite is Robert Browning, actually, but Larkin does seem to have some interesting stuff! I never heard of him until I got here -- I don't remember reading him in the Norton Anthology. (Then again, none of my stuff was there either 😉 )

edit: be secretly in love with chrissy or someone cute.

No, it's generally a slow forum. Most threads are 7 day timeouts or slower. But if several Larkin fans joined, they could start a fast Larkin thread.

In my experience I've never found it useful to be secretly in love with anyone.

I will try, I promise.

Larkin as a jazz critic is neat, and Party Politics remains in a
special place, yet Motion's piece revealed a racist and a right
winger I couldn't see before that. The pornography part is
respectable, though 🙂

I'm already in the only clan I want to be in, I don't thing the non-sub-sub does clans, but hey - I've seen other clans with only one member.

Great! Now I'm going to have to go look it up for the ... um ... racist right winger part!

edit: maybe the library has it...nah, not if it was written after 1932.

Then I'll stick to Robert Browning.
