Tried them when on a long “drive” because although I much prefer the “feel” of an actual book, it’s hard to read a book and drive at the same time. I also bought an e-reader but just didn’t get that special feeling. I guess to each his/her own..but you did ask.

Currently on the go [i.e. in my phone]:

A Curious History of Sex by Kate Lister
Rogue Male by Geoffrey Household
Shakespeare - The Biography by Peter Ackroyd

Along with podcasts, audiobooks are a bit like listening to the radio.

I tried a few but they put me to sleep
there is a closeness that only a printed book can bring

Having read someone while driving long distances is very agreeable, otherwise i rather read myself.

It's also a very good way to lull yourself into driving off the road. Do be careful.

I have a few. No complaints about them, but I prefer a paper book, no electronic gadgetry to mess with.

only because my wife is blind, so most afternoons we have a couple of hours on audible.

One of the reasons I have shifted to audiobooks is because of a problem with my vision.

The ones I have on the go at the moment are:

Creating Christ: How Roman Emperors Invented Christianity by J.Valiant & C.Fahy

The Battle for the Rhine 1944 by Robin Neillands [just the chapters about Operation Market Garden]

In God's Path The Arab Conquests and the Creation of an Islamic Empire by Robert Hoyland

The funny thing is, I don't like audiobooks at all, but I do regularly listen to short stories on Youtube. Less than an hour or so, I'm fine with it. More than that, I much prefer reading it myself.
