Well,no,that's the problem.Belgium is a very small country, population 10 million.Compared to the US,I think New York alone doubles that!
Our bands try to tour Holland,France and Germany,to create a bigger following, but people there aren't exactly waiting for Belgian bands.Naturally, record companies are not intrested in bands with few fans,so the scene is doomed to stay small.Which isn't bad,IMO,but if you're trying to make a living of your music,it sucks.

Australian bands have a similar problem. we have 20 million people, but it is a long long way before you get to another country interested in rock (except for NZ, but they only have about 3 million, most of whom live in Sydney anyway๐Ÿ˜‰ )

I will say out of all the bands i have heard only two were from Australia. Then again, it seems awfully hard to break in to the metal scene with Europe and the UK being so strongly represented.

god, these names you spout off are hilarious.

what about daughters (thrash), dillinger escape plan, the locust? you guys into any of these or is it specifically bands you can only listen to whilst driving a hearse.

You have doom confused with black metal and power metal.

i think "hammerfall, but less cheesy" is a better description of manowar. although not that much less cheesy, tbh...๐Ÿ˜›

and what about cradle?!?

and yeah darvley-thrash does rule, but as long as it's proper 80's shizzle.

go megadeth!

speaking of which, there was an Aussie punk band called God - they had a great song called 'My Pal' - 'you're my only friend, and you don't even like me'... with just the one riff, played over and over.

sorry, not much into thrash - i like it slow, bass heavy, down-tuned guitars, Sabbath chords...

hmmm, you may be right there feivel. could you explain the difference to me? like dfm, my metal tastes are pretty speific and don't reach very far. I was into it pretty heavy about 6 or 7 years ago but that all faded with time.

Is doom comparable to stuff like Type O Negative and whatnot? And what's the difference between black metal and power metal?

it was a cool song, but now i think about it, God were more garage than punk. man, i wish i had brought more music with me to the UK. I just found out that another Aussie band called Magic Dirt has covered this song.
