Here's a top 5 of the best live bands I've ever seen!!!! (not that anyone is interested, but so what, I've got beer and hashish and I'm smiling all the way...)

5. Meatloaf (Milwaukee)
4. Neil Young (acoustic solo: Ahoy Rotterdam)
3. The white stripes (Night Town Rotterdam)
2. Billy Bragg (Paradiso Amsterdam)
1. Springsteen and the E-street band (Ahoy Rotterdam)

I like to finish this very emotional post of with a quote of James Hatfield himself - We are an icon, but we sure ain't done yet (MTV-Icon, 2003) ... AND THE LEGEND LIVES ON ...
now then-don't get me wrong-i like metallica! they're one of my all time greats! but seriously? the legend loves on?!? call me all screwed up, but legends don't make crap albums. st anger? one of my friends has a theory. and that theory states that metallica didn't actually make st anger. some crappy band made it. they wanted to see if they oculd make it go multiplatnum just cause it said "metallica". i hope he's right...listen to ride the lightning. all of it. every glorious thrash-metal second. then st anger. the more ride the lightning. the load. some more lightning. then reload. then, my friend, you see a pretty much dead legend...

maiden, on the other hand, still have it. 1 kinda crappy album-virtual XI-but apart form that? 13 studio albums of bliss! and some pretty neat live un's too...

and btw-metallica are still legendry live...tis just theoir studio shizzle...

Amen to that!

I remember when Metallica TORE IT UP!!
These days, they're just trying to ride their fame to retirement. But, hey, that's the story all over.

Incubus: "Science" was incredible, but all their other albums are crap. I even went to see them last year and they SUCKED!!

The Deftones: "Adreneline" was awesome, and then... poo! I mean, they just got worse and worse.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones: Don't EVEN get me started on these guys! Just get yourself a copy of "Question the Answers." It speaks for itself.

Santana: Come on. Seriously. "Supernatural?!" I'm supposed to listen to that crap?! Get a copy of "Moonflower" and a copy of "Caravanseri." That'll teach you about Santana!

But, don't get me wrong. I recognize the few bands who have stood the test of time. The ones that are still making classic albums TODAY. Here are some examples:
Tool, Corrosion of Conformity, Rush, Clutch, Jane's Addiction, The Allman Brothers, and Steely Dan.

Clapton just came out with a new album--

14 tracks, all covers of Robert Johnson songs. Heard some of it, sounds great!
