U2
I’ve seen this band live three times, the first time being Twickenham 2005 on the Vertigo tour, which I have to say was awesome. This was the day before I flew to Egypt for a diving holiday with a massive hangover.
Got into U2 rather late, as has been my trend with music over the decades. I initially did NOT like U2 but they grew on me and by the time of The Unforgettable Fire I was fully engaged. With the Joshua Tree I was hooked.
But Bono is (imo) a pompous virtue-signalling prick, their musical creativity has taken a dive like a hungry Peregrine falcon and the dumping of that totally crap album into everyone’s iTunes library just finished me off.
So in short, brilliant early and mid career material, but annoying, pompous, over-bloated and crap later on.

i try to imagine what it must have been like to be eighteen years old, know how to make a guitar cry and sing, be elevated by yer fandom to GOD status
then ten years later complain about folks while using slurs to describe immigrants and STILL play guitar better than anyone on the planet
except for maybe carlos santana or derek trucks
when i see, hear, read about, or play eric clapton's music i am conflicted
@rookie54 saidClapton (see him live three times) has three modes: solid bluesy stuff (think "Crosscut Saw" ), cheesey-sentimental fluff ("Wonderful Tonight", "Tears In Heaven" ), and eminently forgetable fidgeting (all the rest of it). One is quite right to be conflicted. Jeff Beck played circles around him.

I went off an entire genre--there was a time in my life when I was very keen on heavy metal, Black Sabbath (seen live), Deep Purple, Hawkwind, and so on. Don't listen to any of it any more (except Led Zep--their music still holds up well, IMO). Why? I'm not angry any more, I guess.
@Wycombe-Al saidI tried to get into Radiohead back in the day but couldn’t get past the doleful dreariness tbh.
Radiohead
Loved Pablo Honey, Bends, Ok Computer, then it all went tits up and i hated them
