The Ammonia chloride ist just used to carry on the elctrons.

You can easiyl perpare it by contacting fumes of ammonia and hydrochloric acid. It is done in basic chemistry lessonssince a fine mist from the solid chloride is made.

The lectrons actually come from the zinc which is converted into Zinc ions. Not nearly all of them, so that you waste a lot of energy with every cell you throw away.

Ammonia cleaners are readily available at your local chinky paki or whatever it is you Brits call them.

You can find HCl at your local school lab.
