Bedtime Reveries

Probably the most gentle thread I ever launched. Not about piercing insights or minor tomatoe versus tomatto distinctions, just casual late

night stuff you'd like to celebrate, capture or get off your chest... even though it's permanently recorded in cyberspace and means nothing.

* April 7, 2009, Know the real thing when it happens because it takes me by surprise and rocks me back on my heels. Know a good thing

when I see, hear, smell, taste or touch it because it's memorable in ways beyond my expectation. Mom, you loved me before I loved you.

April 8, 2009, Dawning realization that many of those in power have little desire to 'solve' the challenges they propagandize. They'd have no job.

Beyond the murky mists of man's devious mischief there still exists the capacity for tolerance and dialogue, upon which civilization was founded. Almost another way of saying "Underneath are the everlasting arms." 🙂

See date above in the post header because I'm too lazy to type out the date. Hoping GB gets my sense of humor.

To the point of the thread. One of my favorite things to do this time of year is drink beer and watch Champions League football. Good beer...not just beer. Ale is my preference. When the wife lets me indulge, I am blissful.

Almost April 12, 2009, Went grocery shopping today. Always ignore the close in parking spots, content to leave them for others with tighter

timelines and busier lives. So I usually park half a mile away next to the carriage return. Primarily to enjoy the excercise of the walk as well

as the fresh air, striking up pleasant conversations with the families I pass along the way. Anyway, both on the way in and on the way back

out, I begin to realize chess fatigue is real. Not particularly painful, just sort of numbing. Symptoms are when you instinctively begin to scan

the sixty four parking spot area within your peripheral vision, scoping it for lighter colored vehicles and dark... imagining recreational vans

are queens and pickup trucks are rooks. While doing the aisles, maintained the necessary economies and permitted a few extravagances.
