I am just about holding it together to write this. There was a beer festival in Coventry tonight, and I drank some of the foulest getyoudrunken ales ever produced, which was good fun. I am going to have a monster hangover in the morning.... A bonus for the night was a late birthday present which is a shotglass chess set. Anyone want a game give me a shout. Even if you live in US I will drink shots for both of us as the game goes on.

I want a kebab.

A.

Edit you'll no doubt to be pleased to hear I've found some crisps. And some JD.

Edit 2: I guess to make this a 'proper thread' it needs something to respond to. Post about your favourite beer festivals below...!

Aren't beer companies evil, exploitive endeavors that feed upon peoples' addictions, for the profit of few at the expense of many? How can you in good conscience contribute to the furthering of such horrors?

I don't have much of a choice.

But I do what I can to right the imbalances of the system by supporting local microbrews instead of soulless conglomorates like Anheuser-Busch.

If you are claiming that beer itself is inherently evil, then I have to take exception. Only light beer is inherently evil.

Right on rwingett!!

Portland Brewers Festival in Portland Oregon. I think it is the first weekend of July. All the Pacific Northwest microbrewers are here (and others). A terrific time with superior beers.
