No.
Pastry yes.
Like, baked beautiful goodies.
Is that a pasty?
It was invented for Miners, one side contained a meat arrangement, the other a jam desert.
Its outer crust was meant to be discarded, which meant you could consume it with dirty hands.
@Cheesemaster
When I had Insulin back in the day, they were divine.
You could really look forward to lunch knowing you had a pasty in your tin.
And believe it or not, it's one food you never ever get bored of eating.
I am told they also come in Asian varieties now, but I have never sampled one, so cannot comment.
@how-ntl saidDevon may argue that point!

Did you know the difference between a Cornish pastie and a Devon pastie?
Apparently it's the crimping, one is on top, the other to the side.
(Which is which I can't remember.)
And the savoury filling is mainly potato, carrot, onion with a little minced meat.
The sweet side was fruit, typically apple.
The typically thick pastry of a pasty was to retain heat, both
for the filling and the miner who carried it! (It's cold down a mine)
Dialect name: tiddy oggy
@cheesemaster saidTry Moosehead.
Dark beer tastes like a skunks ass.
Light beer gives me a headache.
Is it Pilsner or Lager that is in-between?
I drink cheap old Milwaukee or
Budweiser or Molson Canadian and sometimes Corona with a slice of lime or lemon.
As a side note...
When I hear some bloke say Guinness is beer I want to punch him or her in the face at least 17 times.
It would be worth the time in jail 🤔
I don't eat cheese when I drink beer.
It seems to not go together.
@how-ntl saidYes I seem to remember, in my youth, going to a "Dance Hall" that had a metal pole in the stage and the dancer wearing two. 🤔
@Cheesemaster
Yes, the pasty is the one food that puts the World into perspective and creates calm where confusion reigns.
It is said that if a nation does not know the wonder of a pasty they will forever struggle with existence and be in constant search of satisfaction.
Have you never heard of a pasty before?
