I just left someone a message and it detected a ad word and would let the message go through. It was not directed personally to anyone, including a freethinker. I was unaware that it could detect inappropiate words. Has anyone else had this experience? Kirk

Haha, I actually have a funny story about that. Back when Dave was here he was trying to prove to his wife that it edited out bad words and it apparently had some problems so he sent me some messages with bad words in it about two times and then sent some apologies afterwards! Haha....good times! 😀

OK, it was in my message to you. I changed the deleted word to "crap." The intent of the message was that I was enjoying this clan "crap." So it really didn't have a bad conotation. It was "good crap."😉 Kirk

I figured as much. I think C&R need to be instructed that only a 'highchair tyrant' need be protected from 'crap'.

It depends on where you are to what is offensive. I have often heard 'wanker' on Canadian and American TV, even the Simpsons. In Britain it is a pretty bad word.

then there is of course the work tw*t that in the US is a far worse word than in the UK, where it pretty much means idiot, I found this to do my detrement when I mentioned the said word to somones mother, and was told I had called her the equivalent of the "c" word.

I had fun once trying to send Russ a message about an offensive post because I needed to quote from it!

'Crap' is ok! I think the s**t word was replaced with 'crap' to get it through the swear filter.

Writing swear filters always give me an immense amount of enjoyment. I sit there thinking of all the rudest words I know for about 5 minutes, type them all in, then sit there chuckling at all the 'naughtiness' on screen.

Well, I find it amusing, anyway.

BTW: I really didn't know tw*t was so offensive in the States, and I spent quite a bit of time there, so how many times have I dropped that into a conversation unawares.

If only you could write a spam filter ... something that checked for meaningful content or at least humour... 😉

Good to know that someone has a simple, but yet sick sense of humor like I do. And tw*t is a very naughty word here. I was kinda disapointed to here wan*ke* was a bad word in some countries. I think it's too fun a word to not say. Here in the states it's ok. 😀 It's kind of interesting about how words are ok somewhere and naughty other places.
