currently the mars bar adverts read "beleive 2006", meaning that England can win the world cup in 2006 if you beleive, or something along those lines anyway. this i don't mind, even if the TV advert is hilariously bad, and plastered over every TV from wales to scotland.

However, "beleive 2010" with a scotland flag in the back ground is darn near patronisation! (is that a word?) england might be beleiving that they'll win it, but mars are saying that we should beleive that we can actually make it to the finals, never mind the final itself!

it's kinda funny too though...

I would not trust any advertisement that offers such a horrendous misspelling.

They still have Mars Bars over there? I haven't seen one of those in the States since 7th grade.

I'll believe when some of our players get some decent european experience, and not just spend their time sittin on the bench in Rangers or Celtic.

From Wikipedia:

"The bar called Milky Way in the US is sold as Mars in Europe, where the name Milky Way is used for what in the States is called the 3 Musketeers. The bar formerly sold in the U.S. as the Mars bar is now marketed in that country as the "Snickers Almond Bar" and is not sold consistently in the UK where it has appeared with other special editions that are released occasionally."

Ah yes. In seventh grade, most candy bars were a dime, and a few were a nickel.

We had 'dime' bars in the UK, but they are now known as daim bars.

They are originally Scandinavian and were first called "Dajm". Mmmh, Daim ice cream!

This thread reminds me of the time when my friend and I went digging for old bottles on an old bottle dump site in Prestwich. After a few beers and a couple of hours later, we discovered the find of the day. A snickers wrapper! Not a marathon wrapper, but that of a chocolate bar that had only been introduced to our country 4 years prior to this.
