Dear All,
Tell me your best chess novels. Nabokov's Lutzhin Defence is head
and shoulders above anything I've read but one I'm enjoying now is
half chess and half detective yarn: It's called The Flanders Panel by
Arturo Perez-Reverte (first published Madrid 1990)

The Chess Players by Francis Parkinson Keys...totally about the life of
Paul Morphy...excellent read!!

Also Profile of a Prodigy by Frank Brady about Bobby Fischer...good
book...

And The Life of a Chess Master by Hannak...about Emmanuel
Lasker...one of my faves.
