I understand that March is not the only month with an "Ides".
It appears that there is also an Ides of May, July, and October as well. Well, I guess every month had an "Ides" but it was on the 15th in these months. In all the other months, it was on the 13th.
It's a holdover from the pre-Julian Roman calendar.
This is the real thread, the other two are just copycats.
