Apparently DARPA has a new device that lets them listen through walls, even 12" thick walls and still hear someone breathing as far as 50 feet into the room beyond. According to the story, this is just the beginning....

through walls except processed to turn movement into sound.
It would therefore respond to the actual vibrations of the vocal cord
or the throat directly not the vibrations going out as sound, at least
thats what the projected function should be like.
If so, it should be able to be used as a remote lie detector also,
since it would show heartbeat, mabye other bodily functions like
bowels, anything in the body that moves around, including directly
detecting the presence of a pregnant woman.
