So on what scale do you measure pop?
Record sales?
# times played on a "popular" radio station?
Magazine covers?
etc?
(Btw, I was just trying to hook-troll some fans of those bands I mentioned)
60's - Early Beatles, Monkees, Beach Boys
70's - The Osmonds, Captain and Tenille
80's - Michael Jackson, Madonna
90's - Boy Bands
00's - Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift

Also, more to some sort of point I might be trying to make, I really don't like genres because they're so intangible. We as a species are cursed with an insatiable desire to label everything.
Originally posted by hopscotchThere used to be a store in Toronto's west end (Queen St. West near the old Psych hospital, maybe it was called Ushers not sure it was back in the 70's) that sold cans of food (for human consumption) that were dented or had the labels removed. It was fun to go in there and buy the unlabelled ones and invite friends over for mystery food dinners. Of course there was lots of refreshments just in case. Labels be damned.
