Does anyone know where i can find information on car conversion kits for Bioethanol, and more specifically, whether my particular car could be set up with one ?

(I have a Suzuki alto, if you're interested)

No, It's petrol. Diesel cars can be converted to Biodiesel, but also need a conversion kit.

I have trawled through all the bioethanol sites i can find, but none are very helpful. Apparently i can run my car with 10% bioethanol without a conversion kit, but who would actually know the mix in their tank without gettying a chemistry set out 😛

Depends where you are getting it from. You might be able to introduce the bio ethanol to the petrol engine gradually. When you are close on 80% ethanol it might be best to use the likes of Redex in the engine to prevent your injectors from blocking.

I have a 2.0 TDi at present, I plan on introducing my car to 10% at a time as im not too sure the engine will hold up. Apparently Volkwagons can accept biodiesel without the conversion kits and I know a few people who have put it in their TDi for a while without problems.

You may find that people are scared to put the "new" fuel in their cars because it says not too in the hand book. It wont knacker up your car, might just need cleaning if you do it wrong.

you could do it by calculation, using the maximum capacity of your tank. Just divide that by 10, add that amount of biofuel and then top it up with regular.

Don't forget to jump up and down on the bumper to mix it all up.

No need for that, a few handbrake turns will mix it all up great. Shaken, not stirred.

I've heard you can get an E85 cenversion kit, and until i talk to my Mechanic, i'm pretty in the dark as to the convertability of my particular engine.

Lol! Yeah, yeah, anyway I have been looking at these, but it costs a lot for some
thing I might wish latter I hadn't done. But still I like the green frog I hope comes with it.

Where will you be getting the bio ethanol from?

I really cant see the problem on this, as long as it produces the same effect on the cylinder (im sure it will) then it will be fine, as long as you introduce it to the engine.
