I think it was CBS?! I think many stations belonging to CBS each had to pay out a few millions??? Do you know for sure?

He didn't have anything to do with it per se, but the consequences affected his show severely (and others...Opie and Anthony were fired for broadcasting the audio of two people fornicating in a Confessional booth...nothing worse than Howard has done over the years) . The FCC passed a number of public obscenity broadcast laws, none of which are rigidly defined, that have taken the raciness out of his show. He now routinely pays fines about content that would have been considered comparatively tame before last year's Super Bowl.
