Back long ago in the days when I did actually get bored, the reason for my boredom was that I could not think of anything to do, so what the heck COULD I do. Eventually it dawned on me that there was only one sensible thing to do, namely, give up boredom, so I did, forever. So I have not been bored since Tuesday March 21st 1978 (6.45pm to be precise).
