Brief Question

Where did I read that tournaments start after a predetermined amount of time regardless of whether they are full or not? What is that amount of time?

I dont know if the amount of time is publically available but it tends to be about 2-3 weeks after they were first created.

Also the tournaments that rely on a set number of people, such as hardcores, will wait until they are full before starting.

It has always been the trouble with chess in the summer - people are less inclined to play it. Even I feel less enthusiastic about playing a long game at the moment.
