Which is the best (cheapest) UK broadband provider?
I don't need a large download limit since I don't DL music or films or anything.
BT offers £9.99 but this is only for 6 months, then it's £17.99.
Talk Talk is similar, but more expensive after 3 months.
AOL is £14.99 and offers a free wireless system - useful since I am moving my PC to the loft and would need to sort out a connection there. But I have heard bad things about them.
Any ideas?

I use Talk Talk - free BB when you get their phone package thing.
£19- odd for all [most] telephone calls includes the line rental.
Cheapest - works ok for me [up to 8mb].
Like you say though, there is a time contract - before them I had Virgin.net, £17 monthly no contract - they were ok too.
I once had Tiscali and must say had a load of trouble escaping from them, it took me 7 months to get away.

Originally posted by VargI'm with BT 'cos you know what you're getting - I'd suggest taking it for the 6 months at the cheaper rate. When that terminates negotiate another deal 'cos BT always have offers on.

So any bad thoughts about AOL?
A friend of mine hated them because they blocked all the dodgy porn and gore sites which he liked (such as rotten.com and gorezone).
No traffic limit,
No access restrictions,
No "Fair Usage Policy",
Good up and down speeds,
and you have cable, and you're not skint, then the answer would be easy:
NTL/Telewest.
