…are intriguing. Mine transform as I increase my interests…lately, it’s cycling.
I’m training for a 200+ ride next year on the iconic STP (Seattle to Portland) over two days. There are some who can do it in 1, but at age 61, I will be overjoyed to accomplish it in two….
Training consists of cross training with running and distance cycling….I’ve nearly got a metric century (100 km) at 15mph…looking forward to 100 mile ride…and mountain biking. Tomorrow up the grand Mount Rainier, 32 miles at 2000+ elevation.
Some bucket lists are a lot of work…
What are yours?
@hakima
Sounds like you’re enjoying life after 60 to the full Hakima! It’s a great time to start working on new things which also get you very fit and strong.
I’ve been working growing as much food as I can on my tiny plot of land over 5 years using permaculture principles though what I’d really love to achieve is to have a tiny eco type house built there with a green roof.
Inspirational, both of you.
Hakima I’m sorry I missed you when you were over in the UK, perhaps next time or if I come to the US which I hope to do in the next couple of years.
Woodgirl, likewise if I’m passing through South Wales which I also hope to do next year (I’m going to be narrow boating on the Monmouth to Brecon canal with my wife) maybe we can share some time.
On my list is getting fit enough and the opportunity to do some more diving at some of the worlds best sites before I’m too old.
@divegeester saidTruk Lagoon and while you're close Nan Madol.
Inspirational, both of you.

@divegeester saidAre you kidding? I have that very trip booked in a few weeks time!

It’s on my ex’s bucket list though being the most able bodied one I will be doing most of the fetching and carrying 🥵. Still unsure about letting my territorial dog join us though?
@woodgirl saidI’ve traveled the canal with my parents many years ago, along with several other canals over the years. Next year are travelling with BIL and SIL and their two dogs. I think dogs love it.

@divegeester saidMy.scuba experience is about 10 mins in a pool. Never been out of the US.
Do you/did you used to dive?
Have you dived those sites?
I've seen pictures of Truk with war relics on the bottom. And I've read about Nan Madol. My neighbors are Chuukees. They're from Micronesia. They hold to the claim Nan Madol was built by 2 brothers. I can almost visualize two 200 ft tall kids building it like Lincoln Logs.
I really think it was aliens, but that's me. The US Army corp of engineers surveyed it with high tech gear, they feel it was an irrigation system of sorts.
@hakima saidTo get to Newfoundland
