I have been catching up on some reading here on the site and I am distressed to see some of the things I've seen. Anyone remember why Dantes Left? Everybody? good, were getting somewhere. for those new ones who know not, Dantes left because everybody made such a big damn fuss over him. Dantes is the greatest player i can say ive had the privelege of getting thrashed by. He was an asset to this site and we drove him away by all our small talk and gossiping about this and that, hit me in the head with a wiffle ball bat. Did he win, did he lose, blah, blah, blah. I must admit, I was very intrigued by him myself and had a word to say about him here and there. I did so out of respect and reverence, but I still obsessed over him. Look whats being said to poor skeeter. Since Dantes left, baca, DT, skeeter, and bbarr have all sat in dads chair so to speak. And I assume they will go back and forth for a while. Should the Iron one continue his assent maybe Dantes will have an replacement. Getting back to the topic though, we all are having too much to say about our stars. Congrats to the cat for 100000 moves or a good luck to lord lot for 1 yr of service is cool. but when we start bullying people for the way they play the game and having our 2 cents for every quarter spent, peoples feelings get hurt. believe it or not, but behind every username is a real person with feelings. I think we would be well put to give some of our more affluent members a little break from the lime light and topics of conversation. Maybe they might stay. Maybe we would all suffer from happiness. Maybe...

Good Call - I agree. I hate bullies: especially sexist and racist ones. Haven't seen much racist stuff here but RHP does come across as a stuffy 18th Century Gentleman's Club where any successful women are likely to be abused.
I have a solution - everytime someone feels like insulting another member of our community, just open a Thread called . . . .
" I hate claretnblue "
get all that venom off your soul, direct it at me, I have broad shoulders and in anycase my g/f has most likely already said that stuff to my face" And (Don't tell her ) she is the only person in the world that scares me!

Well said Zakkwylder and for that you get a rec. Unfortunately though the top players and any player rising so rapidly will always be in the limelight. It is great that we congratulate people for any achievement but personal attacks are completely unnecessary. If any of the top players (or any player) leave because of this, then it can only be described as a loss to the whole community.

Actually, I have been quite impressed with the lack of unpleasant ranting against people in rhp, as opposed to Yahoo and other sites. I feel very comfortable here, and, even thouhgh my level of suckage as a player far exceeds most living creatures, everyone has been very kind and friendly to me (even though I thought bum fighting was wrestling someone with your bum) :-)

It's the world's smallest violen. And it's playing a sad song for all those who's feelings have been hurt. :'(

It's like a violin, only much smaller and misspelled. 🙂

It's folks like you who know how to ruin a good thing. This thread is about not saying unpleasant things to/about other people, and what do you do? Please read the first post again.

Quite right, quite right. I lost my temper there a little bit. And I apologize.

I was commenting on the original post. But let me be blunt. Dante's withdraw was a display of poor sportsmanship. I'm not saying I condone trash-talk, but I think that the current top players on this site show more fortitude and character by not letting a little talk 'hurt their feelings'.

Yeah, maybe. but just because someone is good at something, doesnt mean theyre exempt from out respect. "Hey see that guy, hes the best....lets pick on him" thats basically what you are saying. Dantes maybe could have spoke up for himself, but when you've walked in his shoes and felt how he felt, maybe you would have done the same thing. lets try to be a little bit more objective here.
