I saw on SKY after the game; they ran through some of the footage and the commentators were laughing their bollox off at Ronaldos diving - he's not very good at it is he? It was so hilarious.
As for diving and acting, nobody talks about Ribery, Ballack, Owen, etc. Even Henry over-acted on an indiscutable penalty. It's about feeling the touch and trying to let the ref know about it.
I'm proud of the lad. Being booed and whistled and he responded by playing a great game on the pitch. And if you guys prefer a tough that punches and stomps other players than a player who overacts, I'd say you've got your values all twisted.

However, IMHO Wayne's stamp was an accident, Ronaldo's pleading to the ref was very sad to watch. If Rooney had done something so wrong, why did Ronaldo feel compelled to intervene? Did he think the ref wasn't going to give the red card anyway? Surely for an evil nasty stamp there's no debate. Leave the ref to do his job.

I just think the stick the lad is getting is undeserved, so I'm happy he responded with a great game, taking the responsibility of making his runs and not just passing the ball quickly to the closest guy.

But there's little we, and he, can do to change that. He can walk like the man he was last night, and win them back like Beckham did, or let it destroy him. I feel it's a choice the lad is going to have to make.

Compared to Football, you hardly every see players in other sports arguing and berating the referees. Football players (especially all the over-paid superstars) and Managers have no respect for the officials these days. What's the point in whinging about a decision whenit can't be changed!
Personally, I'd like to see players being heavily penalised for dissent and surrounding officals. They'd soon learn to stop throwing tantrums then 😛

The referee will always make mistakes, but in cricket there are umpires, who make the on-field decisions, and match referees, who can fine or report players after the game for unsporting conduct such as showing dissent (footballers know all about this), time-wasting, trying to influence an umpire, cheating, etc.
It doesn't affect the outcome of the game, but players can be fined their match fee.

This match is over France v Italy in the finals. Two great Defenses I see this match not ending in regular time. So long Portugal, revenge how sweet it is.
Why is it revenge? England didn't have anything to do with Portugal's departure from the World Cup.
